Absum-8 1.1

Publisher Description

******************************************************** Rated as a "Killer App" and "This remote is Awesome" by Apps4iDevices.com ******************************************************** For hardware lovers. Absum-8 is a wireless mix control surface for use with many professional music/video applications. It includes custom button layouts for Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro*, Digital Performer, Cubase/Nuendo, Sonar, Reaper, Ableton Live, Reason, Sony Vegas, Fruityloops Studio, StudioOne, Adobe Audition and Tracktion. (ProTools is NOT supported in this release) The design comes from a simple idea. In these days of amazing hi-tech touchscreens, it would be interesting to build a real control unit in 3d space... instead of just moving a picture of a fader up and down, the fader is a solid object and reacts to your touches naturally. All buttons and even the jogwheel rebound smoothly and it really feels like a traditional hardware unit in use. There are 8 preset views and a special "Free Move" mode to enable you to move around and zoom in on any part of the unit for extremely accurate control. Whatever view you are in, the transport controls are always available by touching the TP button at the bottom-right of the screen. HOW TO SET UP If you're using a Mac, open "Audio MIDI Setup" in your "Utilities" folder, then double click the "Network" icon in MIDI studio. (For Windows users, download and install the "rtpMIDI" driver which enables identical functionality) Add a new session, give it a name and tick the checkbox to enable it. Make sure you set the "Who may connect to me" option to "Anyone". Now open the Absum-8 app. Your device's name should now appear in the Directory. Click the name to select it, then click the "Connect" button. To test the connection, move a fader or touch a button in Asum-8. You should set red lines in the Latency area in Audio MIDI Setup. Now you can open your audio/video application. Install a "Mackie Control" controller in your software specifying the wireless MIDI session name as the input and output. Check your software's documentation for how to do this, as they are all different. You can select your button layout in Absum-8 by tapping OPTIONS then SETUP. *Final Cut Pro X does not support any audio control surfaces - All versions prior to X work fine

Requires iOS 4.3 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
